A Novel Approach to Developing a Mobile App for Promoting the Microlearning of Scientific Spirituality

Insights of Scientific Spirituality

At times, it seems pointless to go on and on without being aware of where we are headed. The capacity for our reasoning has remained unchanged for a long time. We have been asked to follow the beaten track without question. The universal consciousness is endowed with a strange property called absolute self-awareness, which means being and remaining aware of oneself without the help of any mechanism, to be precise, any biological mechanism that we call our body. For this to happen, we need to unlock some of the most fundamental secrets of the universe. It is difficult to define what consciousness truly is and unveil the actual mechanism behind its work. Somehow, consciousness survives and continues to survive by growing exponentially and becoming increasingly more sophisticated. Our team of tech enthusiasts designed a mobile app based on scientific spiritualism to understand the intricacies of awareness and consciousness.

App Facilitating Microlearning

Microlearning is all about breaking down complex topics into small, bite-sized lessons that are easy to digest and apply. Think of it as learning in snackable pieces—perfect for our busy lives.  Now, imagine combining this approach with reading spiritual scriptures. Instead of lengthy lectures or heavy texts, we get short, daily doses of wisdom, meditation prompts, or affirmations. This is where a mobile app comes in. This is part of an initiative called ‘Rural Mentorship Network,’ which leverages an Android-based mobile app, ‘Neo-Light, ‘ designed to promote scientific spiritualism in remote areas. The mobile app was designed and developed by Dr. Ranita Ganguly, Srinivasa Rao Bittla, and Priyam Ganguly, who presented the app concept at Conf42 Golang conference on April 03 and at the IEEE StuCon 2025 conference held today at Stony Brook University, New York.

M-learning can be a significant tool to lower the cost of in-person training. People in rural areas can access content anytime and anywhere, allowing them to remain self-aware in scientific spiritualism. The native app has built-in learning resources with offline access capacity, decreasing the chances of losing data or being attacked. These approaches render m-learning a safe and secure tool without an internet connection or purchasing data packs.

Advantages of a Dedicated App for Spiritual Learning

The Android-based app developed is accessible, user-friendly, and meant to be part of daily routines for a large user base globally. We are already using messaging apps for spiritual microlearning via daily messaging, Audio-Visual clips, and group chats. A dedicated mobile app for learning scientific spiritualism offers several unique advantages:

  • Messaging apps are often chaotic, with content shared in a fragmented, unstructured way. A dedicated app can provide a curated, step-by-step learning path tailored to the user’s progress, ensuring that a more systematic, structured, and in-depth understanding of lessons takes place.
  • A dedicated app can offer high-quality, validated content curated by field experts. This reduces the risk of misinformation, which is common in informal group chats or unverified A/V clips. The mobile app is intended to integrate an AI chatbot to personalize the learning experience based on the user’s daily issues, progress, and goals. This level of customization is hard to achieve in generic messaging apps.
  • While group chats are great for casual interaction, a dedicated app can foster a more focused and meaningful community. Features like discussion forums, expert Q&A sessions, and guided group activities can deepen connections and learning.
  • Messaging apps are often filled with distractions from unrelated conversations or notifications. A dedicated app provides a focused environment free from distractions, allowing users to immerse themselves in their spiritual practice.
  • A dedicated app could bridge the gap between science and spirituality, which is harder to achieve in informal messaging platforms.
  • Unlike messaging apps that may be cluttered with ads or distractions, a dedicated app can offer an ad-free, ethical space focused solely on spiritual growth.

While messaging apps are a convenient starting point for sharing spiritual content, a dedicated mobile app for scientific spiritualism offers a more immersive, structured, and personalized experience. It combines the best technology, science, and spirituality to create a transformative learning journey for users. It’s like having a spiritual guide hold our hand always, anytime, anywhere.

How are spiritual practitioners integrating multiple apps to benefit from microlearning?

Spiritual growth doesn’t have to be overwhelming now. With mobile tools and the power of microlearning, practitioners can take small, meaningful steps every day toward a more mindful and fulfilling life. Whether participants or facilitators, consistency is key. Small, regular efforts lead to significant transformations. A spiritual coach sends a daily affirmation to their subscribers every morning. For example, ‘Today, I choose peace over anxiety.’ It’s simple, but it sets a positive tone for the day. Like A 3-minute Meditation or being a part of a thematic Series, e.g., “5 Steps to Inner Peace”, that practitioners can complete over time. A group admin might start a 7-day revitalizing program, where the practitioner shares one thing that inspired them after reading a verse from a chapter in the mobile app for each day in the messaging app.  These small, consistent actions increase over time, creating meaningful spiritual growth. It’s a simple yet powerful way to integrate spirituality into everyday life. What makes this approach so effective is:

Accessibility: Everyone has a common Android app, and it’s easy to use even without the internet. There is no need to download different apps or learn a new platform.

Consistency: Daily reading of scriptures creates a habit of engaging in spiritual updates, apart from sharing group meditations or discussion prompts.

Community Learning: Group chats foster connection and accountability in the community when deciding which verse from the mobile app chapter to focus on.

To summarize, spiritual giants always subscribed to the idea of doing less. In practice, it is important to follow the concept of doing less. By doing less, one is prevented from the unnecessary waste of one’s energy. Here comes the idea of microlearning through a mobile app that allows spiritual practitioners to channel themselves into doing the most valuable work of understanding the purpose behind human birth.
