What is the best way to teach your audience? These are all important things to consider before you start creating content.

• Think of an eye-catching channel name. Remember, this is the first impression users will get out of you. 
• Design an icon and other images for your channel.

Depending on the style of your tutorials, you may need a high-quality camera, screen recording software, and microphone. A video editing software is inevitable because no one can record without bloopers.

Forget about the competition and remember that there will always be someone that wants to watch your content because it is specifically relevant to them. 

Strategies to grow your channel

Although you shouldn’t worry too much about the competition, you should always think of ways to grow your channel. If you stop posting regularly, your content will be old and outdated, and YouTube’s algorithm will stop recommending you to people at all. 

These are a few strategies to grow your software tutorial channel.

• As previously mentioned, a regular upload schedule is the best way to keep your audience engaged.
• Analyze what your competitors have to offer. You can be inspired by their success and learn from their mistakes.
• Conduct keyword research to find out what type of content your audience is looking for. You can also search through your comments for this. Your audience will be happy to find their questions answered and their issues solved.
• Develop your style of teaching. Everyone learns better from their favorite mentors, and you should develop a unique style of teaching that your audience will come looking for. 

Monetizing Your YouTube

Even if your main goal is not monetary gain, it doesn’t hurt to earn a little cash, does it? There are several ways you can earn money on YouTube, and we will briefly touch on the subject below. 

• Ads: The first step for any YouTube content creator is to earn money through YouTube’s Partner Program. This may not be a goldmine, but it’s a start.
• Affiliate links: If you are able to find software and other products to market and earn money as an affiliate, it can be particularly lucrative. Search websites for affiliate programs and apply by yourself. Usually, you have complete creative control over how you market products and are paid a portion of the revenue generated from links you add to the description box of your videos.
• Sponsors: Once you gain a substantial following on YouTube, and if your content is high-quality, you can expect sponsors to approach you. There is usually a contract with details on the type of marketing you should do and the fixed rate at which you will be paid.
